Portugal’s Fusion Fuel has today (May 3) revealed it has entered into a €2.46m ($2.7m) equipment supply contract for a 550kW solar-to-green hydrogen for mobility project in Spain.
Signed with Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), or the Spanish National Research Counci, the contract will see Fusion Fuel supply 22 of its HEVO-Solar PEM electrolyser units along with balance of plant equipment for water purification, and hydrogen compression and storage to 500 bar for the project.
In an interview with H2 View last year (2022), Benjamin Schwarz, Head of Investor Relations at Fusion Fuel explained the HEVO-solar system recovers heat from concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) systems to pre-heat feed water for the electrolyser, offering a 10% reduction in the energy required.
